My News in English

I've been quite lazy in writing my blog, but here are some of my news in English. Time has passed so fast in everyday tasks and normal life. :)

I've been writing and studying for my PhD and I made couple of trips to Helsinki last summer and autumn. My main idea was to study some Biblical commentaries, that are not available in Sastamala where I live. I was also able to meet my friends who live in Helsinkin or near there. 

I spent Christmas here in Sastamala, and we had a traditional family gathering on Christmas day. There are 16 of us now, so it is not so often that we meet as a whole family. 

We have had some extreme weather this winter: It was really cold, almost -30 degrees for some time and then in few days temperature rose to zero. So it is sometimes hard to think what to wear. You never know, what it will be like when you go outside... 

It was raining yesterday and almost all snow has melted away, and all roads are really slippery. They are covered with ice with a layer of water on them.

We will have a triple birthday party in February: My Dad will have his 70. birthday, one of my nieces will be 10 years, and my youngest niece will be 1 year old. It's not a surprise that I have been knitting some birthday presents...

This spring and summer will contain some journeys in Finland and abroad. I will go to Joensuu in the end of February and visit churches around there and tell about Bible translation work. It's a part of my support raising. It will be really nice to go there and meet some friends as well. Another journey will take place in early June. A group from our church in here will visit our m-workers in Spain. The details of the third journey is still mystery to me, but the plan is to visit Caucasus and to get to know some the SIL -workers and learn about the projects there. It is possible that I will work there in the future, but again, I don't know any details yet, but I know Someone who knows! :)
